- If you booked a package with Sunwing Vacations or WestJet Vacations, you will now fly on a WestJet-operated aircraft.
- Sunwing Vacations is still running, so you can still book your favourite hotels like RIU and Blue Diamond Resorts through them. Your flight experience will be consistent, with WestJet planes and staff welcoming you at your destination.
- A key change: Sunwing bookings are now made using WestJet’s reservation system. This may not mean much to you, except you will receive a six-digit code for your flights with WestJet.
- Elite Plus seating and free checked bags are no longer included with Sunwing packages as standard; WestJet’s policies now apply, where a personal item and carry-on are included, but a charge applies for checked luggage.
- If you have a WestJet World Elite Mastercard, you still get one free checked bag for you and up to six travel companions.
- You might still see Sunwing’s bright orange planes until the end of the year—WestJet crews operate them in WestJet uniforms during this transition.
