Itinerary

Arrive in Auckland, and as a group. transfer to the Bay of Islands, located in the North of New Zealand, offers an extraordinary blend of breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural history, and outdoor adventure. This stunning maritime park encompasses over 140 islands, featuring secluded bays and an abundance of marine life, including dolphins, whales, and penguins.
Cruise through the Bay’s pristine islands and along the Cape Brett Peninsula. See the historic Cape Brett lighthouse and majestic Motukōkako, the Hole in the Rock, and hope for a lucky drip from above as you pass underneath it. The Bay of Islands has many marine mammals, wildlife and native birds. Keep an eye out for dolphins throughout your cruise. Stop off at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island, where you have time to relax, take a walk, swim, or enjoy a bite to eat and drink from the on-site fully licensed café. Fullers GreatSights is one of only two operators in the Bay of Islands that the Department of Conservation licenses to interact with Marine Mammals.
Journey to the very tip of the North Island in our purpose-built coach, travel along the sand-swept shore of Te Oneroa-a-Tōhe, Ninety Mile Beach and uncover a region of rich Māori tradition on an unforgettable full-day tour. In Māori tradition, this is where spirits depart on their journey back to the homeland. As you stand beneath the iconic lighthouse and watch the Tasman Sea and the mighty Pacific Ocean collide far below, you’ll feel the power of this remarkable place.
After breakfast, we will check out and drive south to Auckland. After checking into the M Social, we join The Big Foodie for ‘The Tastebud Tour.’ We’ll experience the sights and sounds – and most of all, the flavours – of the city through this four-hour urban food safari. The Tastebud Tour introduces you to Auckland through your tastebuds, hearing the stories of its food communities – from coffee roasters to chefs, growers to bakers to winemakers and more, all with the inside knowledge of their tour guides. Along the way, they will show us some city highlights (including the waterfront and the volcanoes) and explain their relevance to New Zealand’s culinary story. The rest of the evening is at leisure to explore the city. Make sure to visit the Viaduct Harbour!
Your time at the All Blacks Experience will include a 45-minute guided tour where you learn what it takes to make, shape and be an All Blacks. This experience will include learning the story and feeling the passion behind the All Blacks Haka up close and personal. In our hands-on, interactive zone, you can then test your rugby skulls against All Blacks and Black Ferns. The Tour lasts 45 minutes, but please allow 1 to 1.5 hours for your visit. We will meet you at the Waiheke Island ferry terminal (Matiatia), off the 9 am Ferry from Auckland. We will then escort you to experience wine tastings at three of the best boutique vineyards, where you will learn more about wine from the experts.
Today, we’ll drive to the Coromandel Peninsula. Enjoy a guided scenic boat tour along the breathtaking volcanic coastline, which includes Cathedral Cove, sheer cliff faces, towering pinnacles, incredible rock formations and sea caves. Our unique eco-tour can take guests below the surface to the magical wonderland of the marine reserve. Look through the glass panels and explore an underwater world rich in marine life and biodiversity. You can choose your level of fun. Enjoy watching the marine life from the comfort of the boat or put on a mask and snorkel and dive in to swim amongst the fish. Equipment provided.
  • Embark on the scenic coastal walk at the base of Mount Pauanui to Cave Bay.
  • Swim or surf at the accessible and stunning Pauanui Beach.
  • Discover vintage planes at Pauanui Airport, a unique local attraction.
  • Enjoy whale and dolphin spotting; keep an eye out for orcas and dolphins.
  • The walk to Cave Bay, with its rock pools and ocean views, is a tranquil 20-minute journey.

We’ll check out and drive towards Rotorua, stopping to experience the real Middle-earth. With a guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, in the heart of the Waikato region, we will step into the lush pastures of the Shire™, as seen in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

This evening, after checking into the Sudima Rotorua, we will enjoy the Redwood Tree Walk. Bask in the glow of their magical wonderland as the 120 year old Redwoods forest comes to life by night. Walking high above the forest floor and beneath these gentle giants, you are transported to a captivating world of colour and light, where forest and fantasy come alive.

Featuring dramatic geysers, bubbling mud, and beautiful native bushes explored by our personalized guided tours. Te Puia is home to the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute. It offers a state-of-the-art Kiwi Conservation Centre so that you can get closer than ever before to New Zealand’s national treasure- the native Kiwi bird. This evening, we will experience an exhilarating traditional Māori cultural dinner and performance.
Today, we will drive east to Napier, located in New Zealand’s picturesque Hawke’s Bay region. This captivating destination blends unique 1930s Art Deco architecture, sunny climate, and rich cultural heritage. Known as the Art Deco capital of the world, the city offers stunning buildings, vibrant street art, and festivals celebrating its architectural heritage. This evening will we be treated to a three-course dinner at Mission Estate.
From Napier, we continue on the Wellington, New Zealand’s capital. It offers visitors a vibrant urban experience surrounded by natural beauty. Known as the cultural heart of the country, it features the national museum Te Papa, numerous art galleries, and theaters. Its compact city center supports a lively culinary scene, craft breweries, and coffee culture. Surrounded by hills and a rugged coastline, outdoor activities like hiking and biking are readily accessible. We will check into the InterContinental Wellington which will be our home for the next two nights.
The Abel Tasman Cruise and Wine Tour is a full day out departing early from Nelson. The tour includes the cruise, a snack lunch, and wine tasting. Have an informative drive to Kaiteriteri then cruise or water taxi ride to Anchorage. On arrival, you can take a short scenic walk or relax on the beach and take in the picturesque scenery while enjoying your snack lunch. On arrival back in Kaiteriteri, we will go to two of Nelson’s award-winning wineries and taste some great wines. We will also stop at the historic Mapua Wharf, which now holds some of the region’s best boutique stores and ice creams worldwide!
Franz Josef Glacier offers a unique and exhilarating experience in New Zealand, nestled within the Westland Tai Poutini National Park on the West Coast. Situated an easy five-minute walk from central Queenstown, the Gondola carries visitors high above Queenstown to the Skyline complex. The best views in the region are found here, spread out in a spectacular panorama with breathtaking views of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables mountain range and across Lake Wakatipu to Cecil and Walter Peak.

We will leave Queenstown this morning, and drive to Mt.Cook. The night sky’s darkness around Aoraki/Mount Cook is unbeatable – it’s official! Let the team at Big Sky Stargazing introduce you to the wonders above. The 4367 sq km Gold Status Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve is the largest in the world, and for this tour, you will be the centre of it all. Their experienced guides will introduce you to the beautiful southern night sky with a full-hour tour using the naked eye, astro-binoculars and state-of-the-art art 14″ and 11″ astronomy telescopes. Unleash your imagination as you discover our neighbourhood in the universe, including the Southern Cross, seasonal ecliptic objects, planets, planets, stunning star clusters, moons, distant galaxies and even our very own galaxy, the spectacular Milky Way. An experience is guaranteed! The Tour is delivered one of two ways. One way is from an outdoor viewing platform at our stargazing building set alone under a massive night sky. The other, if the weather is unfavourable, then your guide leads you through a ‘live’ orientation of our southern night sky indoors, reclined in comfortable seats of New Zealand’s first 360-degree Digital Dome Planetarium theatre where 4k high definition images generated by state of the art computer software immerse you in a stunning digital view of the universe and beyond.
Once we arrive into Christchurch, and check into the Sudima, we will stretch our legs by exploring the city on foot with a 2-3 hour guided walking tour to learn all about Christchurch’s history & culture. They will explain major recent events, and the post-earthquake new city.
This tour includes the Tourism Award winning cruise on Akaroa Harbour. Visit the beautiful, unspoiled old French whaling depot of Akaroa—a charming small township nestled in an inner harbour bay of Akaroa Harbour on Banks Peninsula. The township contains a host of historic buildings, craft and gift shops, and many idyllic photo opportunities. On our return journey to Christchurch, our group will stop at the Barry’s Bay Cheese factory, where we will get to sample some fine New Zealand cheese.
The Tramway Restaurant offers curated seasonal dining and evening sightseeing in central Christchurch for a unique experience! New Zealand’s only dining tramcar. The menu package features premium local cuisine and beverages paired with attentive service from professional wait staff and the changing scenery of central Christchurch outside the windows.
